Hiking Maps and Guides
Here are some great hikes and walks mostly in our South Shore area, but also some others further afield, that we have enjoyed.
These are provided for you to download and explore, but
Please Note the Following:
- These maps are not kept up to date. Sometimes features change due to coastal storms or logging operations.
- There is no certainty that all the hikes are passable or safe.
- Many of these hikes are over private land. In some cases we have asked the owner's permission to use a trail and have never been refused. In one case we were told we were welcome to hike provided nobody smoked (danger of fire). Most landowners want to keep atv's and other machines out.
- Please be very considerate of private landowners, so we can all continue to enjoy these trails in the future.

Cherry Hill Walk This is the same route as the annual Cherry Hill "Fun Run"
Corkums Island Walk
Feltzen South Walk
Gaff Point Hike Fairly easy hike around an undeveloped coastal peninsula.
Grandmothers Head Hike You definitely need the map to follow this trail to a bald rock with a great view.
Graves Island Walk
The Hawk This is the southernmost point of mainland NS. Go at low tide and see an extraordinary petrified forest.
Hell Point Hike Hike around a rugged peninsula, where several landowners cleared a trail and welcome hikers!
Labrador Castle Hike To a great view across Mahone Bay
