South Shore Hiking Club
The South Shore Hiking Club was formed about ten years ago after a previous "Outdoor Club" faded away. The Club has no formal structure but is operated by a few dedicated people who are willing to do what it takes to keep the club going. It does have an enthusiastic membership that regularly participates in events.

Some information about our little group:
We have a regular hike on the third Sunday of every month besides various other events during the year.
The hikes are generally designed to cover around 10km and take about two and a half hours, depending on the terrain. We get an average of 15- 20 people on the hikes, which are predominantly in Lunenburg and Queens counties, but sometimes further afield.
Sometimes the hikes are over rough terrain, sometimes (particularly in winter) we have a walk along little-used country roads and smooth trails. Most often after the hike, many of us will go and eat together somewhere to make a more sociable atmosphere.
We are not an organized club in the normal sense. We don't have any officers, we don't have dues, we don't have any real organization. We are just a group of people who like to hike together in order to stay healthy and explore new places.
